“Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to heroin addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.”
Choosing a sponsor can feel overwhelming at first, but it does not have to be. Many of us found it helpful to listen closely in meetings, watch how others live, and ask for guidance from trusted members of the fellowship. What mattered most was not finding a perfect person, but finding someone who had worked the Steps, lived the principles, and was willing to help.
The 5th tradition of Heroin Anonymous states: “Every group has but one primary purpose- to
carry its message to the heroin addict who still suffers.”
Below is a list of people who have completed all twelve steps and are active in the community of
recovery. Please use this list to connect with someone who will be willing to take you through all
twelve steps during your recovery journey.
